Do Men Like It When Women Ask Them Out?

The dating game has changed over the years and many men have a challenge with asking a woman out, not because they don't want to, but often they don't know how. Instead of trying, many men will just not ask.

Women on the other hand tend to be a little more bold and this means they will ask someone out easily -- though there is still the element that is afraid of rejection. When we asked guys whether they wanted a woman to ask them out they said they thought it was flattering.

Some women are afraid that if they ask a guy out the guy will think they are desperate. Usually this is not the case. A good approach with a guy when you are not sure is to give him your number and tell him you would like to have coffee with him some time.

Once you do that, you just walk away. It's up to him to make the call, although some guys will take awhile before they call. This does not necessarily mean they are not interested, it may mean they are busy and will get back to you.

There are some things you need to know before you make this decision. Some guys will assume that if a woman asks them out they want to have sex. Usually guys will think about sex right from the start so it is a good idea to let them know upfront whether this is your intention.

Guys get happy about dating for this reason and if you are not calling for that reason it is important to let them know. Also once you go on the date it is expected that since you asked, you will pay for the date.

Some men will insist on paying but often they will sit back and let you take them on the date as they would have taken you. This means they will possibly let you drive (unless it is the first date when both should drive themselves), pay for the dinner or the event and just allow you to deal with the entire date.

Whether you ask a guy out or not really depends on your own comfort level. How do you feel about it? If you are tired of waiting around for your phone to ring then asking someone out would be a good choice just to get out.

The rules of dating have changed so much over the years and men know that women are able to go after what they want as much as men do. They see it all the time in the movies and in the news, which makes it a turn on for many guys.

You do have to take into consideration a man's culture though because some cultures think that it is not a good thing for a woman to ask a guy out.
