Uncovering the Mystery of Body Language

You know the look. She looks across at you while she's sipping on a drink and flashes you little glances. He starts passing his fingers through his hair or putting his thumbs through his belt loop. These behaviors are all a part of the mating ritual that happens between people when they are interested in each other.

Body language is the part of communication that many people miss but others know well. When you are dating it is important for you to know the signs that are being given so that you know what to do next.

Some of the most common body language signals are important for you to recognize so you can make the most of your date. Here are a few to remember:

His Body Language

When a man is interested in a woman he shows it in many ways. If he thinks himself attractive, he will tend to walk with more confidence. When he is interested in you, he will stand around you in such a way that he blocks other guys from coming near; he may also find ways to touch you.

He will do something silly to make you notice him or he will adjust his tie or stir his drink. While he is doing these things he'll look at you if only for a glance. When standing, he may look over your body quickly and let you know how good you look.

Men also like to profile. They will stand with their hands on their hips so you can get a better look at their physique. They will put their hands in their pockets and their thumbs in the loops and stand forward -- to let you get a glimpse of the package in their pants.

When he is not interested he will look around at anything that isn't you, he'll look at his watch or he will make the date shorter than expected.

Her Body Language

Women will give a man secret glances and may toss their head. If they do this you know they are interested. Some women will talk with their hands open so you can see the palms, which indicates they are being sincere and they are open to you.

Both men and women will show an intimate gaze to let each other know they are interested.  Women tend to hold the gaze just a little longer to let a man know they are very interested.

Twirling her hair, parting her lips when she drinks, or crossing her legs shows that she is interested in the conversation and relaxed with you. She will also highlight what she thinks is her best feature.

As an example, if she thinks her eyes are her strong point, she will have them decorated tastefully and she may lean forward when talking to show them off.

When she is not interested she will look at her watch or make a trip to the lady's room that seems to take forever. She may even be honest with you and then leave.
